Friday Bible study

A group of us have been meeting on Friday morning for a bible study. Last week we talked about Prayer, which Barry walked us through some points about why, how, and where do we pray. This Friday coming up Eric will be walking us through the doctrine of sin. Please help us walk through this doctrine by given us scripture or any quotes you might have. We need all the help we can get to expose sin for what it really is. I hope that as you comment that we all can help each to grow; I am going to try to have something like this up every week. My prayer is that this will be a tool to bring God glory each week.

In Romans 5: 15-20 Paul is writing about Adams disobedience to God when he ate off of the tree that he was not supposed to. V. 15 But the free gift is not like the transgression. For if by the transgression of the one the many died. Paul uses the word many with two distinct meanings in v. 15 just as the word ‘all in v. 18. “He has already established that all men, without exception, bear the guilt of the sin and are therefore subject to death.”(MacArthur). V18 so then as through one transgression there resulted condemnation to all men. So through Adams one act of disobedience we all become sinners, we are all subject to condemnation. V 19 for as through the one mans disobedience, the many were made sinners. And we can begin to see sins course take affect right away as Adam and Eve’s eyes are immediately opened and they realize that they are unclothed and hide from God when he calls out to them. As the time moves on, we see the sin pass to Adams descendants. Cain murders Abel and we shouldn’t forget that just because Abel was murdered, he was still a sinner through Adams initial sin.
